and why would ampert, whose father is a literal games winner, have to go without being sent something… even if beedee himself cannot send anything, there is just no way there’s no one in the capitol willing to send ampert supplies. literally plutarch could do it, or someone he knows. it’s so unserious, the entire thing made up like no other tributes but haymitch even MATTER to the games

and the moment he climbs on top of the tree to look out for ampert, he of course sees him. of course. exactly then, and nothing happens to ampert from that point on until he meets haymitch, and of course he managed to salvage not one but TWO sunflower explosives (a clue that we will surely need later ;)))… unbelievable. like we are stupid

so somehow his deadly repercussions turned into an incredulously lucky way of getting that berm hole not to fully close and noooooo one notices. no one. im so sure

how is haymitch himself foreshadowing “deadly” repercussions for his stunt with lou lous corpse and then the only ACTUAL repercussions are tiny taser butterflies that don’t have any lasting negative effect AND he conveniently lands in the gas plants while running from them AND his excuse for following them is shitty but holds up AND he finds a branch to stick in the berm hole without the gamemakers noticing…

what was the point of sending the child his way only to kill her off five pages later

of course the final rock is a sparking one. of course. how would it be possible that the third rock happens to be a sparking one. it must be the Final Rock Or Death

every fucking child knows charcoal tablets help with poisoning, holy shit…

of course the fucking lenore-coloured bunny drinks the water right next to haymitch right that moment. of course it does.

like genuinely sorry for the hundred updates but im reading this just laughing. what a farce

beetee said this, plutarch said that, wiress said the third, bla bla bla, the CONVENIENCE of it all. shocking, genuinely. everything happening to katniss in her first games felt like she a) earned it via her extraordinary skills as a hunter-forager (like dad 😭😭😭) and b) was pure ass luck. not here, oh no. haymitch knows nothing and is incapable of anything but somehow, he’s fully prepared.
