40% done. The imagery was fun at the start, it's boring now. Imagine reading so much poetry with the same recurrent tropes and meter. There's no uniqueness anymore! Iqbal doesn't call himself a poet anyways, and he says in the preface as well poetry is not the goal of this masnavi. Whatever be, the message is good but the execution is now getting monotonous.

almost 1/3 of the way! reading the persian of iqbal is somehow easier than trying to understand faiz's abstract urdu poems. it makes sense. iqbal's more literal, not twisting and complex. hes just presenting his concept. if i had to rate abstractness and beauty in a list, id put faiz as a more beautiful abstract poet than ghalib, and ghalib's VERY complex, but i find him easy peasy ngl https://pastebin.com/dRzN8q9M
