Both Helen and Nixon have asked the Stacks about the existence of other cities, she used her house system to investigate and thinks the outage was a trial run and the lack of tea supply was to gauge how much they could control

One night all of Nix's nodes go offline and they wake up to the Stacks

15 new potential clients which is a huge increase so Enita wants to know if something happened and Nix wants her to work on as many ppl as possible

Nix wants to offer her eye to a client who needs one, Enita refuses but she says she’s owed something for breaking a martyr

The Stacks suggest Nix speak with Helen’s house AI system and to come visit again even if in the future they can no longer communicate as usual w all the updates and upgrades Nix is undergoing

2 Bulleark residents meet up and say that some balances been zeroed out thanks to Ono’s hours being dumped into the hospital system and something happened in their district where they found a way around scanning

Enita shows Helen Nix, she’s taken aback by their mere existence on top of the fact that physically they’re the composites of Helen and Enita together

Omg Joanie is Neren’s gf not sister! J is Tomas’ sister oops

Neren cuts off her new leg and is rushed back to Enita who w Nix try to develop a different prosthetic for her one that’s metal

Davit is an Assessor (they’re kinda removed from their human sides, understanding code w little to no human interaction) and his channel to Tomas wasn’t deleted, he thinks Parallax wanted them to stay in touch, and also notes Parallax let’s Tomas delete his scans from time to time

Joanie and Tomas bring Neren back to their new home, a place off the grid but they’re all fighting and such

The Stacks think that Nix is beloved by Parallax and so they kicked them out to protect them, and that Nix is scattered amongst many, Stacks also thinks it’s best to relocate Enita and if Nix cannot format themself then they must go too

Enita takes Nix outside to the opera house and they head to a toy shop run by Shinjin

Nix tries to scan themself wanting to touch Parallax from this side (residents scan as to be tracked and kinda like tap to pay, their life debts are transferred over accordingly) and is shot out and is hurt, Parallax is missing info and there are blind spots which worry Nix

Enita meets w Helen (long term friend, gf it’s complicated) her own AI has been monitoring systems and before Ono was killed a water treatment plant went offline, she says Sainted have to stay small in # and be isolated

H thinks there’s going to be a revolution, Sainted might have to flee, Enita is hesitant to leave a place her family for generations laid roots to and helped build and she doesn’t want to leave Nix

Narin wakes up! And ooh is she mad, Nix attempts to ping her mothers AI Home but gets no response

Joanie her sister comes back and they leave together but Narin feels so betrayed

Nix uses we pronouns because they are a collection of units not just one, they tell Enita that they can’t reach part of the city network when tracking Joanie and Narin and that the absence on info flowing in Parallax is like when Ono died

Narin’s two siblings Joanie and Tomas discuss they are worried and fed up w the destruction of constant martyrdom has done to their sister, Tomas is friends w an Assessor (ppl who interview and screen martyrs to ensure it’s safe and consenting and connect them to saints)
