Starting to understand after almost halfway through! Very different read for sure.

Themes:

Conservation of the body after death ( animals and humans) some humans were displayed in personal museums without consent and not returned to families so they could bury their loved ones.

It is a variant of the Mean World 🌎 Syndrome where people have a particular type of infection where they spend hours in front of the TV searching for horrendous news.
