This author makes Mr. Gardiner (an awful uncle by the way) a widower, and he seems to have wed again to one Mrs. Wickham, taking her son as a trusted stepson, and giving him management of his business (this Gardiner has retired to the country).

This is obviously a forced mash-up of P&P with Wilde’s “The Importance of being Earnest”, from the title to nods in character names & character situations or relationships.
Problem is, the play is a comedy of errors, built on premises of the absurd & crazy coincidences used as plot devices for humor. That’s not the tone this P&P/JAFF story aims at. The clash is not producing good results…

10% in & the story is awfully convoluted and relationships between characters are hard to believe in serendipity, and extremely interwoven to pass any reality check.
Widow Mrs. Bennet remarries the rector of Hunsford (not Collins); she dies, her BFF Lady Catherine gets custody of Mrs. Bennet’s 2 eldest girls, baby Catherine goes with her father, who re-marries a lady who is stepmom to foundling William (Darcy).
