Tim was the voice of Nigel in the animated ‘The Wild Thornberrys’. Curry performed an incredible number of voices. Nice appendix in this book lists his: stage, film, tv, voices and even video games. I’m delaying reading these final pages as I’m sorry to see this book (and his life) come to an end. Such a personable person!

Tim is so personable here, discussing roles and people. He has a good, non-intimidating heart. “The thing is, I don’t truly believe in irredeemably dark people.” His voice is quintessentially himself talking to me in this book. Makes me wish I could have taken him out to dinner after one of his theater performances.

Then there was West Side Story. I was about 15 when I first saw on stage, and it made me want to be a musical actor.

Advice to people about playing Frank: None of the characters in the show are in drag, not even Frank, and their outfits shouldn’t be viewed with such a constrictive lens. We’re all wearing what people normally wear in Transylvania. Get the f*** over it. Don’t perform like you’re dressed in something inappropriate or transgressive: you’re wearing the national attire.

Vagabonds rove. We travel about and pick up work wherever we go. We wander, drift, stagger, wink. Reluctant to be pinned down, we are enticed by risk, restless, if we linger, fueled by curiosity, and a sense of wonder.
