Surviver type: REALLY dark. I loved it.

Nona: I REALLY loved this one. The perfect mix of ambiguous and creepy. I love a serial killer story.

For Owen: I’m glad he loves his kid I guess but man are you not a poet Mr king. Or maybe I’m not a good reader of poetry. Probably both.

The reapers image: eh. I like the concept of a cursed mirror but there’s kind of no follow through here

Beach world: I just don’t think king is great at 50s style sci-fi

The man who wouldn’t shake hands: I’m not a fan of this ghost story group lol. This one was I guess a bit more interesting than a winters tale. But I’d need to know or care about these men to make it work I think. Also: because of the raft, I was assuming this was another creep show segment (the one with the germaphobe locked in his apartment who gets killed by bugs). Nope!

Word processor of the gods: interesting idea but too obviously executed. I would have liked Jon to be just as bad as Seth at the end, so Richard had to deal with it being home

The raft: my god does Stephen king have a misogyny problem. Great story tho

Paranoid a chant: interesting and effective; was this related to jfk at all? I’m not very knowledgeable in poetry but I don’t think this is a great poem, but it does feel like you’re in the mind of a conspiracy theorist so I think it works. Would grind if it went on longer but luckily it doesn’t. Doesn’t really have much of a punch either. But it’s fun.

The wedding gig: i REALLY liked this one. The story was interesting, the writing style felt in tone with the time without being caricature. It’s interesting to see king try to reckon with his racism and hatred of fat people here while still fully leaning in. Like, I think he does an interesting thing with both here, it’s just I’ve read his other work.
