Marvale seems like it may be interesting, at least the gruesome entrance to the city made an impression on everybody. I can't wait to see what happens next here!

What a scene. The King being made to kill himself in front of everyone, and Sera pouncing to attack Andreas and try to burn his tongue out.

Okay. So, I wasn't surprised at the reveal of the necromancer, but I was surprised at the reveal of Anouk!
Andreas is giving pure horrific madman, he wants to control everyone and everything. Sera going back to see him after the graveyard scene was ridiculous in my opinion, but I guess she doesn't want to leave without answers.

I knew that the show Andreas was putting on was just magic that had hypnotised people, but something feels even more off. Are the revellers at the party actually all the dead people who the necromancer brought back to life?

Ahhh, I am worried about her meeting Andreas, he spells trouble, especially because he was called a thief when he initially got struck by lightning.
The necromancer part was also unsettling, but something is telling me that it's going to be Lark who was somehow bought back to life after being killed by Sera's magic.

I don't remember how old Sera is meant to be, but I do find her naivety to be a little annoying at times. It seems like she trusts people too easily, and despite knowing she will be a huge target if it's revealed that she is a saint, she keeps revealing it to different people. Caruso and that damn cat had me cackling, though.

Ahhh, I am really getting into this now! The reunion of Ransom and Sera was great, he can't even shy away from how much he wants to protect her, even though they're supposed to be enemies right now.

Hmmm, so she is a saint, that got confirmed pretty quickly (which is good, better than dragging it out) but not knowing what kind of saint she is and what she needs to sacrifice is interesting.

I like Theo's willingness to go on an adventure back to the city! I am still not 100% back into the world and storyline, but I'm getting there.

I am still trying to get back into the story after reading the first book back in 2024 when it came out, but I have refreshed my memory and am enjoying this second book so far!
