Alright. I'm done with part 1 of Wuthering Heights and to be honest, I need to take a break from this bloody book it is making me exceedingly mad following these repulsive characters.

GOOD GOD! Are Heathcliff - and Catherine by extension, because they are so bloody much alike - is such a detestable character. He is so repulsive a character. Christ, every fiber of my being recoils from him so utterly. I cannot even put into words how much I detest him.
The way he treats is Isabella is absolutely vile.

Catherine is such a vile, entitled character. She does not deserve Linton at all. He's too good a man for her and he indulges her too freely.

Heathcliff really does have a mean streak even as a boy. I understand that he's hurt that Cathy kind of abandoned him to spend time with the Lintons, but that gives him no excuse to not welcome her back despite how inconsiderate her remarks are. And what's this about him suffering more than her, like there's a competition between them who suffers more.
