Reading the different levels of this feels akin to experiencing consistent dream echoes. So far, the narrative has only 'echoed' from Zampanò to Navidson to Johnny, I'm anticipating the echo to reverberate...

"Unoccupied space will never cease to change simply because nothing forbids it to do so. The continuous internal alterations only prove that such a house is necessarily uninhabited."

My favorite passage so far: it's easily overlooked, but it is brilliant in its concise meta structure. 2 paragraphs, 1 of an ordinary nuclear family breakfast and its companion annotation from a reader in the outer narrative who praises the author for the detour. I adore how by placing a mundane domestic scene beside explicit commentary on its inclusion, we can see straight through this dense narrative.
