The criticism of ChatGPT and AI in general felt very personal, as if Dan Brown's editor called a favour to add it.

This book might be the most compelling Langdon book I've read, but it is abundantly clear that letting Dan Brown sit for a decade per book (as he almost did with Origins too) is absolutely NOT helping his writing process.

Sometimes I start to think "ooh, this might be the most interesting and best one yet", and then the next chapter is a thinly disguised "ooh, look at modern thing. This time it's Social media tiktok thot addicted to phone. Going places just to take photos of having gone without really going at all."

Still gonna finish it though.

Dan Brown writes cheap, airport-entertainment slop masquerading as something more by superficially invoking history and symbolism, with his obvious self-insert protagonist who looks suspiciously like him yet always gets the hot Bond girl in each book.

I've read every single one of them, and I only thought one was actually all that bad.
