i'm so weak for the moment when a group of young friends step up into roles of adult power, and this is an especially good one. ead "btw fuck petticoats" and loth "see you in hell lady crest" have me grinning like a fool.

holy shit this is so stressful

OK switched to the e-book and discovered a) my math was totally off about how far into the book i was and b) the spymaster's name is spelled seyton which the audio narrator pronounces satan, which had had me giggling before. apologies to the audio narrator but this is a much better experience.

i hate that this narrator is grating on me so much. idk what it is, i love her accent but the quality of her voice is just bugging me. it's to the point i might see if i can grab the ebook and switch...

i wish i liked this narrator more, but i'm enjoying the book so far.
