Another great adventure with Mercy and Elvis her canine best friend. Now she is married to Troy the game Warden and they need a bigger place. She also has her adopted family the young mom and toddler that she collected in book one and living with her. They find out a local historic but probably haunted mansion is up for sale and decide to go take a look.

After an attack that leaves her wounded and Troy's beloved captain shot they need to figure out what is going on. These are really good mysteries and the characters are very likeable. The main couple are a good match and work well together. Mercy has additional family that add to the story.

It has 30 acres of land, streams and wetlands so perfect for the dogs and the Troy the game warden. However when they go to check it out they find out there is also a dead body in the library! Mercy and Elvis are drawn into a dangerous adventure with druids, treasure hunters and criminals all looking for something hidden at the old mansion.
