“‘[The Nazis] occupied our country for five years and left one positive thing[.]’” WHAT. okay i get acknowledging the origins of milk banks in norway, but ms. thornton, you did NOT need to include the quote that PRAISES THE NAZIS???

there’s a weird undertone to this book. kind of transphobic, kind of pro-choice, kind of judgy. thornton wants to be a progressive feminist sooo bad, but ultimately she chose to spend an extended period of time researching & interviewing strippers, & she still came away with, “these poor women are victims of the patriarchy & are devaluing themselves!” … girl what.
