i just feel like. we took a really long time to get to the point. lmao. like it's good. i'm engaged with the plot. the characters are-- well i do hate that francis and felix are sort of orbiting the main character rn bc i canNOT keep those names separate in my head. but mostly it's just like. why did it take so long to get to the cool part

A BLACK MARKET MAP DEALER? SORRY AM I READING UNCHARTED?

very often it feels like this author is obfuscating the sequence of events and returning to fill in the details later for the intentional goal of making the reader sit in a moment of uncomfortable ignorance while the narrator eventually fills in the details. i'm not a fan of it though. like a murder mystery where the mystery is how everyone is connected instead of how the victim died

hmm. getting a kind of calvin and hobbes "the spaghetti incident" vibe from how we're handling the past, but otherwise i'm delighted to be in the world of maps. interested to see where things go from here
