Well, that sounds implausible. For one thing, it'd require bronze age girls to have a lifestyle that led them to menstruate at an even earlier age than girls do in 21st century America, which seems unlikely.

I have come to realized that many common ideas about child marriage in the past are just feminist version of a historical fantasy dystopia. they are well meaning but inaccurate and underestimate medical knowledge of people in the past. I thought this book was not very engaging and did have me rolling my eyes at times.
