I only have one criticism:

I wish I knew more about the town. The ending would have so much more punch if there were a reason for the (insert everything that happens in the final conflict) other than vague allegory. On a thematic level, I understand what Moulton was going for, but an ounce of lore goes a long way to explaining the impossible. I believe that's why the ratings are so low. It comes outta nowhere.

I keep doubling back to make sure I'm reading what I think I'm reading. Every page is a new revelation, a new fucked up twist. Gnarly stuff full of every trigger imaginable.

I hate it took me so long to read this little weird gem.

Whew, look at that average star rating. I'm guessing it gets weird at some point. People rarely dig weird these days. A sad shame, that. Anyway, the first 20 pages have me hooked. Love a good road trip thriller/horror story. This one feels like a Dean Koontz set up. Old Koontz with the porn 'stach. Something like SHATTERED or SHADOWFIRES. Also the cover art for this one is *chef's kiss*
