Ugh, I’m almost forcing myself to finish this book now. ☹️ It’s really unfortunate as the mysterious premise and the dark, spooky setting could’ve established a great gothic horror story, but it has just fallen flat.

Our main character, Ginny, has become increasingly annoying, and her repetitive thoughts are so frustrating. The amount of rhetorical questions that I have to read is getting ridiculous. And every time I see the words "I frown", I feel like throwing this book in the bin omg. There’s not enough diversity in the writing.

Other than the residents acting weird and the house doing creepy things, pretty much nothing has happened. There doesn’t seem to be any clear plot, and it’s a shame as this story had a lot of potential. The writing is also getting repetitive which slightly irritates me. :/

I’m currently in a thriller phase, therefore when I saw this book in Asda, it immediately drew my attention! It sounds like it has a haunted house vibe, which I’ve always wanted to read, so I’m looking forward to this! 😄
