No offence to anyone who likes these books, but reading this is boring. I still don’t feel connected to any of the characters, and I feel that Jennifer’s writing is poor. She can only state facts, and seems unable to connect them to any kind of emotion. For example she spends time telling us about Avery’s poverty, but instead of telling us about its emotional impact, she just tells us what the situation is.

Jameson is such a creep am I supposed to find it attractive or something when he bursts into Avery’s room out of nowhere also has no one considered that Avery and the brothers Hawthorne could just split the money instead of rowing about it it’s frustrating and if Avery and Libby are so poor then how does Libby have lipstick and nail varnish it doesn’t make sense

Avery makers assumptions about people too quickly. Find Grayson and Jameson quote stereotypical. It’s ok so far.
