I got the first two books of this series for free in a sale a couple months ago but I’m torn on even trying this series. I’ve seen super mixed reviews plus the original covers for this was AI. 🫤

A previous AI cover is already a really bad sign, and there are reviews complaining about how it's very tell vs show and heavy on pointless details. AI usually opens up with heavy descriptions on the setting and then bounce into those short lines about how there's action. Tension. Not showing. Telling. It also really likes starting off chapters talking about sunlight and humming, especially air conditioners for some reason. It also goes overboard on witty jokes and comebacks, and people belonging and owning places.

From what I've read, it reads like edited AI. So many chapters open up with sunlight and Arizona like a prompt outline is being followed, as well as the aforementioned excess details about the settings. Once you start seeing it, you can't stop, lol
