Almost forgot how remarkable the opening to this book is; I have more appreciation for the character psychology (minus the women, whose backstories are foreshadowed but nonetheless somewhat cartoonish)

The humor is great, and general craftwork and structure is more appreciated. Havisham, I now realize, is the funniest character.
