I want to finish the book because I know how hard it is to read about back pain for me personally so to finish it is to put myself into something very uncomfortable. but could be eye-opening even if it’s to the negativity and the pain that already know with experienced so deeply by those who were being abused. The man put them in a room together and then walks in and says y’all haven’t done anything and it’s been 15 minutes yank the cover off the Woman and tells him he needs to have sex with her now and he’s going to watch, WATCH not only how uncomfortable but how fucking dehumanizing they’re disgusting people they were disgusting people and today they’re still disgusting

I knew based off the title it was going to be hard to read. I knew from the introduction that was absolutely going to be hard to read.
24 min into the book 7 min into chapter 1 I’ve already had to pause it because it’s talking about slave owners, forcing black slaves to have sex and threatening their lives and threatening to sell them threatening to beat them even if it’s unwanted treating them like animals

The introduction talks about the white washing of history talking about how people are saying that they shouldn’t talk about slavery because it makes white kids feel bad, which is dumb as fuck because y’all never cared about even made black kids feel bad and it talks about how white people are trying to say that slavery was beneficial somehow it’s a Black people or how slave masters were “good people” XYZ

I would not be able to physically sit and read this book myself so I’m going to continue listening to the audiobook
I started reading this bc my dad said he was going to get it on Audible. oh I can listen to it too and then we have something to talk about. That’s what I said in my head
