elz,not necessarily, but because I don’t agree with lgbtq I wouldn’t consider a book with huge amounts of it as clean in my own personal standards, just as I wouldn’t consider a book with huge amounts of cussing or sexual scenes to be clean
cussing and sexual scenes im fine with considering "dirty", but just because you dont agree with it doesnt make it "dirty" you can still be respectful and not call a big part of peoples identiy, including mine, as "dirty". just beacuse straight and white is considered "clean", which is bs btw, anything that diferes from that is not "dirty"
I wish I had reqs but I can't really think of any *sighhh*the closest thing I can think of is Lovely War or The Nightingale but those are both just WW romances
elz,I’m not saying it’s dirty, I’m just saying that I don’t personally agree with it and so I prefer not to read about it. I just use the word “clean” because it’s an umbrella term when discussing books that suit my own content tastes
Ocean of ink by r.a. Conwell is a really good one! It is dark and heavy but has some Christian themes
@f_outdoorreads AHHH I WAS ABT TO SUGGEST THAT
I jus starting thinking about young Sherlock again and suddenly wished that was a book
@agnes YOUNG SHERLOCK MENTION YESS (i’ve seen that show 3 times 😭i love it sm) and yes literally me too

I have one episode left
my brother mom and I were watching it months ago and then we stopped randomly and my brother says he doesn't feel like finishing cos he apparently knows the ending and I don't wanna watch it alone T_T (my mom already has finished the show before sighhh)
oh btw I still have your old young Sherlock PFP XD idk why I saved it but I was like "in case I need a fandom PFP one day" XD
“I’m not saying lgbtq is dirty!” Gng you’re putting it in the same category as spice and swearing, which is the opposite of clean, which is dirty.

okay if you insist that I did, then at least understand that's not what I meant. I don't want to insult anyone or argue over something so silly. someone who is lgbtq is no more clean or dirty than I am.
all she said was say she wanted a clean book, and y'all are coming after her 🤦🏻♀️If you don't like what she said, don't respond to it. geez. @Jaycee thank you for standing up to what you support.
jaycee, while i understand your point of view, it really hurts people in the lgbtqia+ community. as someone who is genderfluid and pansexual, it hurts to be called dirty, even if unintentional.
@elle agreed and @brooklyn we aren’t coming after her because she wanted a clean book that’s fine, what we have a problem with is that she implied lgbtq+ is dirty and even if she didn’t mean to, it hurts.
And… the one I gave was already recommended lol. I’ll second it!
And! The Queen’s Rising Duology by Rebecca Ross isn’t necessarily that genre, but it gives those vibes if that makes sense??
It’s a little darker and violent but it’s good! Rebecca Ross is often a hit or miss though as far as the content in her books, but I do have a review on both books if you want to check if before reading them 🤗
elle and lexi, well, I did apologize earlier if you didn't see. I didn't mean it that way, and I said that I'm sorry, so I don't really know what else you want from me. from my perspective, it feels like people came after me for a simple misunderstanding, even after I apologized and said multiple times that isn't what I meant. I'm not saying you didn't feel hurt, but I'm saying that I did too when I started getting criticized out of nowhere.
and I am truly sorry if it hurt you. I can assure you that even though I don't agree with lgbtq because of my Christian beliefs, I believe I'm just as much as a sinner as anyone else, and I don't think that I'm like, better than y'all or anything because of my beliefs.
