Dr. Carl Sagan writes about the Great Demotions, the discoveries that our planet, star and galaxy are rather unremarkable in the universe. Here's a fun idea, "Last Thursdayism". Its a satirical logical argument that it's not possible to prove that the universe, all its visible light and us with all our memories for that matter didn't just pop into existence last Thursday. It's not logically falsifiable, how curious!
