Rhiannon Bacon’s Reviews > What Would Buffy Do? The Vampire Slayer as Spiritual Guide > Status Update

The show... allies itself to no particular institution and sometimes seems at odds with organized religion. But it is deeply spiritual, and at its heart "Buffy" understands the real purpose of religion. Religion is actually about community... Even the Latin root lig implies joining things together (think ligament or ligature). Religion is about making connections, forging unity and community.
