I do understand that they are both enemies. Both trying to mess with the other equally. What's very different here in my opinion is the intent behind the agressions. Aida's attempts of getting back at Callum are immature at best and generally aren't meant to actually inflict real harm, at least in my opinion based on her internal dialogues. On the other hand, Callum's are intents are straight up violent.

She aims to give him some rashes with the strawberry incident at the wedding (yes, she definitely should have thought more on it, but we already established she's brash and kinda stupid), but in return he actually intentionally drags her in the water until she starts going limp, effectively inflicting harm VOLUNTARILY in the name of revenge. To teach her a lesson? To put her in her place? What about his internal dialogue forming about teaching her a lesson in bed in retaliation for the tux incident? He plans it because he KNOWS it would go against her will/consent. Idk, but to me that's pretty much rape. Idc if this is fiction. I hate bully romances, and this is exactly it.
