The "man with the magical stick" part kills me. That sounds SO bad. Is that on purpose???

Damn. Hope Malik can make it out of this. Was really hoping he'd kill the guy.

I'm a little nervous. I feel like it should've been a longer book but we shall see.
I also find it interesting how it seems like Malik, while does love his husband, maybe also only likes him in a shallow way? It talked about how affected he was by how Brett's face is disfigured now.... Which now thinking about it, goes back to the whole fear of disfigurement thing which is interesting.

I'm curious about this reaccurant theme of "feeling human/like a monster" and comparing it to being queer or disabled. It's very interestong.

I'm curious why this was rated so low. Must be the ending. But so far I really like it. I enjoy the writing style and the metaphors. Each scene and character is very clear and I like them all.
I also like how religious trauma is very rooted in the suffering of queer people. With Malik's scenes it's written in such a way I truly feel my stomach churn with fear, anger, discomfort, and sadness.
