I may have spoken too soon about Mische. She’s hard for me to connect with, and I feel like her character lacks depth. Meanwhile, Asar has layers, depth, and an actual personality that I’m invested in. I can’t help but feel like he settled for her because of his lack of outside exposure. No hate, but I just feel like he could find a better match.

I’m sad to say I’m starting to lose interest in this one. I just don’t feel the connection between Mische and Asar anymore, and Asar’s character doesn’t feel like the same person he was in the previous book. It’s making it really hard for me to stay invested.
