I’m so bored that I’m listening to the audiobook now to push through. Everything that’s happened could’ve been achieved in half the pages. I’m gonna scream if we have one more instance of Mary making up her mind about something in one chapter just to change it immediately in the next. Also, why is this book trying so hard to redeem every man while making most of the women seem worse? So many weird choices.

I mean, I definitely thought that we'd start after the events of Pride and Prejudice and since we aren't it's making me wish I had reread P&P before starting this. It's honestly feeling very over written and repetitive. I don't care for what's been done to Charlotte and it kind of feels like we're just setting up some sort of Persuasion-style plot for Mary. Hoping it picks up now that there's a time jump!
