I think it's interesting that every reference to polygamy so far has been condemnatory.

I feel like having an Israelite character named "Amaleki" automatically cancels any claim to historical accuracy. Not that there was much evidence for it, anyway.

Okay! From the summary, at least, the Book of Omni is gonna be more interesting. If this book can't convince me, it should at least entertain me.

Well, that book was a waste of space on these plates which we keep being told are very small and yet somehow already contain 129 pages' worth of very small print.

So God says that He'll give Enos anything he asks. Enos requests that, if his people are destroyed, their records will be preserved to redeem the Lamanites later. He does not ask that his people NOT be destroyed. He does not ask that the Lamanites be redeemed NOW.

Then God mentions that He already promised Enos' ancestors that He'd preserve their records, meaning that Enos' wish-prayer was even MORE of a waste.

Oh my gosh, get to the freaking point!

"Wherefore it shall come to pass that some guy shall find this book, and show it to three others, or maybe a few more, I haven't decided yet. And it shall come to pass that smart people shall say, 'Can we see this book? I feel like we need evidence for your claims before we believe them.' And the Lord God shall be angry at them for thinking.

"P.S.: The guy who finds this book gets to have at least fifty wives."

Is there a point to all this copy/pasting of Isaiah? Like, we don't need Isaiah in your book, Smith. If we want to read it, we'll go read it in the other Bible.

Well, this isn't uncomfortable or problematic at all!

So, this is supposed to be where Native Americans came from, right? So shouldn't any of them who become Mormons suddenly get a lot paler?

"Because of their faith their words shall proceed forth out of my mouth unto their brethren who are the fruit of thy loins."

So the words of the Nephites are going to come out of God's mouth? I feel like there was a mistake there.
