I’m so tempted to DNF but I also kind of feel like I should keep going. This will bridge the gap of my Avery Flynn reads. But tbh, I don’t think I’m gonna read anymore Avery Flynn after this. This book needed more editing, a better premise, better characterization. If I read one more oxymoronic thing..the heroine has control issues but decided to go the starving artist route? Make it make sense!

There’s a lot that’s not being said here. And by a lot, I mean the elephant in the room that is Caleb and Zara’s potential. They both want each other but think the other is not invested. A tale as old as time. And in true fake relationship fashion, they are going to add sex to the mix and totally stay friends only.

I’ve been reading a lot where the dude falls first I guess because Zara is falling first and this confuses me, for some reason 🙃

This is connecting a few dots for me and I’m enjoying that. That said - I’m unsure about Avery Flynn. She’s definitely better than some - I’m looking at you Tessa Bailey - but her works library seems too small to say. I might try one more depending on how this one is. Hated Muffin Top. Loved Tomboy. Neutral about Awk-weird.
