A ponderous and quaint tale. I love seeing Tom Birkin slowky become part of the Oxgodby community. His chats with Moon about death and life after the War are simple yet very evocative. "We went in and we came out. That's good enough for me." Seeing the mural restored is also so satisfying, the author describes it in great detail but only bit by bit as Birkin works throughout the summer. Nice religious commentary too.
