Guys omg nooo I rlly hate to do this but I might have to downgrade this book a little
I’m sorry but I’m not feeling the chemistry at all, and ling meng lowkey doesn’t even look like he likes the guy
Idk the romance just feels a little forced but I’ll keep reading to see

I feel exactly the same way XD. I find the book to be great when it comes to the games and stuff, but the romance development is practically nonexistent, and it’s almost hard to believe how they suddenly work together as a couple lol.

It’s defo a personal preference for me but I like it when both the leads have feelings for each other first before confessing, them on the other hand, just, you’re telling me u confess to someone by kissing them without consent..? Kind of questionable yes, I really disliked it. And they didn’t even talk about anything before saying they’re dating hahahah I’m just. Anyways I tried to convince myself my standards are too high since I just read a really good book that ticked my boxes and other people’s comments are saying their chemistry is good, so I’m glad someone thinks the same sorry for the long paragraph hahha

Lol, I think I might just be more of a slow-burn romance person. I like when both characters slowly develop feelings for each other, and you get a sense of what draws them to one another before they finally confess or get together.
Here, it just felt so out of the blue, like the author suddenly remembered, “Wait, this is still a danmei story?!” 😭 But then it felt more like a plot development than a natural progression of their dynamic, and honestly, it kind of left a sour taste in my mouth 🥲

I don’t understand why the author had to rush them so much? They definitely needed way more development, when I read about them I just feel so empty, normally if it was a couple with real chemistry I would expect to feel some sort of butterflies no? Really wished this was a slow burn like even a hundred more pages of development can give the characters more of a soul and a reason to like each other. Oh yeah we didn’t even get a reason as to how mangosteen liked ling meng in the first place, like you confess to someone but you’re not even gonna tell them why you like them in the first place? Perhaps that’s why I’m so irked out by the ‘confession’ scene in this book. I would much rather the characters get together at the end than the author randomly putting them together for no reason in the middle yeah

I’m sorry they were giving friends dynamic, like bro if that was a confession scene it might just be one of the blandest I’ve ever read….just seems very forced omg idk if I even wanna spend my time on this sigh
Author so could’ve made them a slow burn instead of rushing it
I miss he zhao and xie Yu those 2 were the definition of chemistry ok
