‘The suspicion was taking an uncomfortable solid shape’

I understand how people can clear this book in one sitting.

A lovely sum up of the ignorance privilege comes with: ‘I would never have let myself get into that situation, she told herself. I would have made better choices along the way’.

‘Anita will sell these for you when you need money. Send her your work, when you’re ready. I’ve told her to expect you. P.’

‘After that first class, they’d been sure that she was one of the dragons, as the harsher teachers were known: the ones who delighted in making their students uncomfortable, who thought the best way to push students out of their comfort zones was to bulldoze them into rubble during critiques’.

It’s just v relatable.

Loving the fire metaphors repeatedly thrown in; I didn’t know there were so many processes, experiences and transitions that could be described with how fire moves.
