Ugh kind of a distasteful book. The science parts are interesting but the politics infused are kind of like a proto Marxist wet dreams. The disdain for the West and the weird reference for third world countries and Chinese communism drips off the page.
I use to think the right was looney in saying some do the left use climate change as a catalyst to change society into their dream image. I was wrong.

God it's quite an excruciating read. It's basically the future fantasies of a proto Marxist. Western capitalist nations are bad and arrogant, India is supposedly the great Marxist savior, China is kind of bad but not because of its communism but it's so called authoritarianism ( which isn't a consequence of its communism but its capitalism). That Obama likes this so much is a face off moment.

Though read. A wholly unrealistic take on humanity . It's more of a leftist political pamphlet then a real take on how humanity could realistically tackle climate change. The fact that Obama likes this book so much really makes me think less of a great man. I guess never never meet your heroes equally applies to never be confronted by their reading habits. Really hope this isn't a foreshadowing of Obama book podcast.
