This omnipotent/observer perspective makes me feel detached from the characters and their feelings, making it hard to enjoy the book. None of the characters seem interesting to me. The lack of diversity is also a problem. This was written in 2013. All the characters are traditional white people. I didn’t mind this in the Ashbury High series, because that was written a while ago. Booksbshould be more diverse now.
