Did i miss the research part here (or is it coming)? I was expecting to get an understanding of what happens neurologically to the mind during pregnancy, birth and breastfeeding (which is how far I’ve come). And/or some philosophical insights. Instead, it’s still just a sad story of all the challenges and negative feelings the author felt. It could’ve been more balanced. Why did she decide on kid 2 and 3..?

As with some other books about women, I feel like the vibe is pretty negative. I wonder to what end she writes about how awful it is to be pregnant. As a counter weight to the narrative that pregnant women glow? I agree with her that hypno-birthing (yet again) pushes the responsibility back to the woman, «if you just prepare, it’s not going to hurt». But the angling feels so negative. I wish for more balance
