The investigation:
1. The first chapter was so well written it read like an excerpt from a middle school language arts textbook. It was so touching. He strikes me as an exceptionally mature person because he writes about his father & what he learned from his father with so much respect, despite them having no relationship presently due to his sexuality.

I will defend whichever queer eye guy finally steps up and names names. They are so vague, it's exhausting.

Allegedly Karamo sexually harassed someone causing the initial divide in the group. I think it was Antoni! More on this later.

As far as memoirs go... None of the queer eye boys are delivering the greatest. However, they are all truly fascinating.

Listening and learning about Karamo's porn addiction... Never stop reading they said... Books can transport you to other worlds

2. The first chapter also called out Tan, supporting my theory of what I previously believed is at the center of the Tan vs Bobby drama. Tan is conservative. Politically - I'm not sure. But as a personality - very conservative. E.g. how are you gay and married to a practicing Mormon. So I put that at the center of the Tan vs Bobby conflict. Karamo also seems to have a wedge between him and Tan because Karamo grew up in a very racially aware household whereas (based on the story Karamo told) Tan seems to have some self hatred (eg. Tan says he doesn't like his full name because only terrorists share his name). So anyways. This is the insight I've gained

I also believe based on the last book that Karamo is a little bit insane. Not necessarily in a bad way. I think that he's a very strong, mature, intelligent, and impressive person. I just think he's been through hell and is a little kooky. Eg. He might be strict about some really specific stuff. I don't think it mixes well with his ultra conservative coworker. Oh also Karamo isn't making this book about going through hell at all. It's not a self-victimazation book even though you might think that based on the chapter titles. He really only scratches at the surface of conflicts in his life and focuses on like, how he's turned these things to lessons and how he in turn teaches his kids or "heros". It's on brand in that way. I'm reading between the lines when I say that his life has been hell. He became a social worker so that's one clue. He also did Real World so you have to wonder if he's a little narcissistic? But the book is good and so far it would appear that he is considerably less problematic than Tan. Karamo might be vindicated. Will keep you informed
Upon some reflection I think Karamo is probably a narcissist and I have been caught up in his narcissistic charm. Not to say that Tan does not have issues. I remember the way he wronged his business partner. I think Karamo's issued are masked by intelligence and narcissistic charm. A wolf in sheep's clothing. Tan, by contrast, a wolf in a floral print short sleeve button down.
Sounds like I'm calling Tan dumb, no I'm not. I just mean Tan is not as good at explaining away everything problematic he's ever done
I can't put my finger on Antoni; I want to say he's a raging slut but I can't prove it. It's just because he worked in a restaurant
It is interesting with their stories they all (save for Antoni) kind of have traumatic backgrounds that they gloss over but anyways they had to come up off of their ingenuity and a rigid confidence in themselves when no one else supported them. It kind of makes them who they are in both the best and worst ways.
