It feels like a commitment. I don't know if waiting a year between books, like me, is the best of ideas. I also never ever skim, but when I run into the proper names in here, I just kind of mumble read/cut them off in my head.

Ansamboreananelassosaurus(with lots of accent marks) becomes Ansam or something. :-P

Ah! The good old names. I absolutely use the same tactic with the names. I mean, isn't it so telling that you are unable to, with your INSIDE voice, without the use of your actual mouth, "pronounce" these names? I say there should be a rule: if it can't be easily said with the inside voice, it shouldn't exist for your outside voice :D

Even if you were a phonetics' expert, the chance to shave maybe an hour off of reading time is still there. :-P
