Realizing this (and probably Operation Bounce House?) are part of the growing GameLit genre, and as someone who mostly enjoys video games for their stories, listening to hours of narration about the nom-story elements of video games (especially as an aphantasic) is pretty boring. The mindfuck romance elements are fascinating, but that ends up being just little morsels of enjoyment amidst the boredom.

Okay, I get that that was supposed to be "romantic" or whatever, but it made absolutely no sense given what's been revealed thus far of the game mechanics.

I keep being thrown off by the repeated bits of prose that aren't *obviously* meant to be "re-used assets". My initial thought was to chalk it up to Cause and Effect-itis, except that doesn't make sense because Levi maintains his memories on each run-through. I'm guessing in the end it's a stylistic choice to subtly portray those "re-used assets" through the prose, but 8 can't decide if it actually works or distracts
