By not removing sin, it came back around to point judges had to get out into play to help focus attention of removing sin.

Joshua and the conquering
Some tribes were more willing to take ownership and conquer the land to rid of sin. While other tribes were wanting the easy path and not destroy sin and allow the sin to live among them or to migrate to another part .
It’s a harsh reality I imagine I would struggle with as well of killing off a population to ensure area was purified of sin. It is a good reminder for us to be mindful

Crossing the Jordan River on dry ground.
As they stepped into River the water back up and the moisture left, allowing them to walk on dry ground.
Equally as memorable as crossing the Red Sea on dry ground other than the Red Sea swallowed Egypt once the Jews crossed.
The Jordan River was crossed as a promise of receiving what was promised when crossing through the Red Sea

Rereading the 10 commandments and knowing their reference today as well as in the formation era
Also crazy to think of how many were nomads for 40 years. I can understand the insecurity of a king not wanting them to pass thru, imagine seeing a line that was 10-20 miles long line how could you not feel afraid
