There are narrators that provide a layer of atmosphere to an already excellent writer's moody (think Wuthering Heights) historical fiction. This new-to-me voice is frustrating, forcing me to slow down. I've restarted this dang book over 10x because my brain is shutting down with his sonorous tones and I've absolutely lost track.
