Portia’s Reviews > Countering the Conspiracy to Destroy Black Boys, > Status Update

Black man kill themselves with their futures ahead of them and white men when their futures are behind them.

As a teacher, I find this book very enlightening and interesting. I love the author’s tone. It’s not ‘holier than thou’ or resentful. It’s very compassionate, while also being very matter-of-fact. Many points he makes are still valid today.

A little boy not using the urinal because he simply doesn’t know how to since he has no male influence to show him. That’s heartbreaking.

You cannot be an irresponsible man unless you were allowed to be irresponsible as a boy.

Very excited to hop into this, based off Favored Reader’s recommendation.
