As a teacher, I find this book very enlightening and interesting. I love the author’s tone. It’s not ‘holier than thou’ or resentful. It’s very compassionate, while also being very matter-of-fact. Many points he makes are still valid today.

A little boy not using the urinal because he simply doesn’t know how to since he has no male influence to show him. That’s heartbreaking.

You cannot be an irresponsible man unless you were allowed to be irresponsible as a boy.

I feel it is easier to develop a boy into a man which is a one-step process than it is removing bad habits from men…
