This book somehow depresses me even more than the first, Lila has entrenched herself in the very neighborhood that Lenú has fought so hard to escape. Lila is rightfully loved and valued by all who are in her company (even those who don’t realize it themselves like Ada and Carmen). Lenú is still just as lost as we left her, trying to burying every part of that neighborhood, her friends, and family in academia.
