i enjoyed this chapter less.. lots of shakespeare yap which i get thematically but just a personal preference. i liked some of the dialogue and i liked when it turned into a play format but it felt less ‘real’ than previous chapters which has been the most enjoyable parts for me

i really liked this chapter 🔥🔥 the first extract i read for this in a seminar was basically just an outpouring of bloom’s thoughts which is exactly what this part was. i love seeing how joyce writes it because bloom’s mind wanders just like mine does - the way he writes thought is so accurate. having fun again 😁

i’m updating as i read because i need to be publicly shamed for my lack of progress. i genuinely enjoy reading ulysses but in my head it is such a task so i keep putting it off .. and now im very behind.
i just finished aeolus (im using the joyce project for annotations). told with newspaper headlines - i really liked this chapter! clearer than past ones from.. what i remember (it’s been a while..)
