You know how modern Netflix shows spoon-feed you every bit of exposition over and over so you don't actually have to engage with the media you're consuming? This feels like that, but in book form. This book wants to be deep and dark and dramatic SO badly but it feels like it was written by a high schooler. Maybe if you were putting it down for days at a time the constant "telling" would be useful?

This is so goofy and there is so much "telling", Characters conveniently overhear everything they need to or lore dump at each other constantly. It's cracking me up, still enjoying it so far but it's certainly not elevated writing by any means.
