It's apparently been 9 years since I read this book, but your comment rang a bell and prompted me to check my review. I said "At the beginning it reads like middle grade fiction, turns into YA, and almost reads like adult fiction near the end." I'd be curious to know if you also feel like it shifts like that once you're further in!

Oh that's funny, Janine! I'll try to remember to share my thoughts on this after I finish it. :) I've never even heard about this book before, but I found it while trying to make a chain for "characters to authors" for hrcyed, haha. ☺️
