I've seen a lot of people become enraptured with this series but a few booktubers I respect really hated it so I am left feeling rather conflicted on if it's worth trying. But my gut instinct is I don't think the humor or writing style will be for me.

But my gut instinct is I ..." A lot of the booktubers I like have really raved about this series too, but when I listened to the preview for the book I knew I would be on the fence about it. Don't get me wrong, it's not the worst thing I've ever read, but the humor is definitely a little too crass and juvenile edgelord for my tastes. I'll still listen to a few more of the books since I've already bought 7/8, but lesson learned in terms of buying series I haven't started.
