Can we please stop with breathy FMCs? They make me want to gouge my ears out.
And no, it's not some kind of misophonia or whatever. lt's more the emotional element of it. Again, the icky femininity that comes with that breathiness. And again, this is one of the many reasons I tend to prefer my smut sans FMC.

Okay, I don't know how many other books do this *well*, but I've seen enough of this trope done purely for the DD/lg kink, and... I really love how this book seems to be putting a twist on the "too innocent about her own body" trope. Tiernan isn't taking advantage of her AT ALL; she's indeed intellectually capable, but was just kept ignorant; & Tiernan explains things to her pretty much as a smart but ignorant adult

Okay, can I just say that I *love* that this mostly alpha-hole high level mob boss character who clearly has jealousy issues wants his wife to have a female obstetrician not because of his *own* alpha-hole jealousy issues, but because a male gynecologist makes *his wife* uncomfortable, and he doesn't want her to be uncomfortable? Can we have more of *this* type of alpha-hole, plz and ty?

While I haven't been a fan of MF romances, Fallen Rook was so fucking good on basically every metric, and despite being called a standalone, it clearly fucking wasn't, so I'm gonna go ahead and listen to books 1 and 2 of the series. In the worst case scenario, if the MF spice ends up making me too uncomfortable, I can always skip those scenes and just listen to the actual story.
